UNIS Wins Best Popular Female Group at KMA 2026

UNIS wins the Best Popular Female Group award at the ‘KMA 2026’ Fan’s Choice awards, with the ceremony's results confirmed a day ahead of Saturday's main event. The win lands days before the eight-member group’s much-anticipated first Japanese mini album "UNI☆Sparkle!".

Fans' Choice Results Announced Ahead of the Ceremony

KMA 2026 - the KM Chart Awards, organized by KM Chart, KM Chart World, the KMA Organizing Committee - revealed its Fan's Choice category winners on July 23, per a post from the official KMA account. Unlike some industry-voted categories, Fan's Choice trophies are decided entirely by fan votes. This year's tallying ran across three voting rounds, covering songs and activity released from last year through April 30, 2026.

UNIS Tops a Ten-Way Field

UNIS beat out nine other finalists, namely, HADES, U Are U, Hearts2Hearts, NiziU, KIIIRAS, BABYMONSTER, Kep1er, ISEGYE IDOL, and EKSIN, to take the Best Popular Female Group trophy.

Organizers framed the results as a reflection of grassroots fan effort, noting the winners were decided solely by 100% fan votes, which the report from The Chosun Daily called "a testament to the global fans' passionate support for the artists."

The KMA trophy also extends a run UNIS has kept up all year on KM Chart's own quarterly rankings. The group took Best Rookie of Summer Season (Female) in 2025, then repeated as Best Rookie of Autumn Season (Female) that same year, keeping the streak going into the Winter Season Best cycle and an April 2026 Hot Choice Female nod. Landing the Fan's Choice group trophy on top of that quarterly track record points to a fanbase that has shown up consistently, not just in a single voting window.

All Eyes on Saturday's Main Ceremony

With the Fan's Choice winners locked in, attention now shifts to the main event. All 15 acts on the KMA 2026 lineup - including UNIS, P1Harmony, ZEROBASEONE, Hearts2Hearts, CORTIS, and LNGSHOT - are set to perform when the ceremony kicks off at 6:30 p.m. KST on July 25 at Korea University's Hwajeong Gymnasium in Seoul. Kang Tae-oh and Won Ji-an will host, with Byeon Woo-seok confirmed as a presenter.

The show streams live via HelloLive and Japan's ABEMA TV, with a delayed broadcast on MBC M, giving global fans multiple ways to watch UNIS accept the trophy on stage for the first time. With the group's streak of awards at KM Charts still fresh, the KMA stage now becomes the next test of just how far that momentum can carry them into the back half of 2026.
