UNIS' Oh Yoona Returns to Weverse After Health Hiatus

UNIS' Oh Yoona is officially returning to group activities and is set to reunite with Hyeonju, Nana, Gehlee, Kotoko, Yunha, Elisia, and Seowon on the KM Chart Awards 2026 stage on July 25 - just six days ahead of UNIS' first Japanese mini album "UNI☆Sparkle!". The news closes out a seven-week health hiatus that began June 8, giving EverAfters the concrete comeback date they'd been waiting for.

Why She Stepped Back, and Her Last Sighting

Yoona's official break began on June 8, when F&F Entertainment posted a notice on Weverse informing fans that she would be stepping away from all scheduled activities for roughly three weeks to focus on her health. The agency said it would "spare no effort in supporting" her recovery.

Before that notice, fans' last real glimpse of Yoona came from UNIS' headlining run at Otaku Pop Fes 2026 in Manila on April 25-26, where the group topped the bill as the festival's only K-pop act. On June 9, UNIS shared a clip on their official TikTok account, and it has become especially meaningful as it is one of the last glimpses of Yoona before she went quiet.

A Promised Live, Postponed—Then a Quiet Return

Before her hiatus on May 26, Yoona told EverAfters through Weverse DM that she would go on a Weverse Live the next day and invited everyone to join her. Still, the live was cancelled, and she promised to reschedule, giving only a vague reason. No new live date has been set.

She didn't stay fully absent, though. In a personal fan post on Weverse, Yoona said she'd been catching up on her community feed and thanked EverAfters for their patience, promising she'd be back with them again soon.

What's Next for Yoona and UNIS

UNIS is sprinting toward its first Japanese mini album, “UNI☆Sparkle!” out July 31 with five tracks, including the previously released "MoshiMoshi♡" and "mwah..." The pre-release single "GimmeSummer☆" dropped ahead of the full album to build momentum and had already arrived on July 17. Release events are planned across Osaka, Nagoya, and Tokyo throughout August, with a Korean comeback expected to follow after more than a year since UNIS' last domestic release.
